Britney Jean Spears
Britney Jean Sparrow was born in McComb
(Mississippi) on December 2, 1981 and moved to Kentwood (Louisiana). When she
was a kid, Britney attended dance classes and was a pro at gymnastics. She was
a winner of many competitions and the like. Britney was an excellent performer
and dancer. Britney was only 8 years old when she applied to be a part of The
All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) However her youth led to her being rejected.
Britney was then recommended to the off-Broadway musical "Ruthless"
where she played the role of the title character for two years. When she was 11
years old she was back in the running for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989)
and she made it as a mouseketeer along with the stars of the present (Justin
Timberlake and JC Chasez of *NSYNC and Ryan Gosling). But her most significant
break came in the late 1990s when she signed a contract as a Jive Recording
Artist. Britney's debut album, "...Baby, was released in 1999. Britney
also sold 9 million copies (as at July 2001) of her second album "Oops
!...I Do It Again" released in May 2000. Britney was the daughter of Lynne
Spears and Jamie Spears. She has a big brother Bryan Spears and a little sister
Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney was born to be a star from a young age. Britney loved
singing and was influenced by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. After taking
extensive vocal and dance classes, and performing in numerous showcases and
fairs, Britney auditioned for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) TV series
(from 1989 to 1994) when she was aged eight, but was too young to be able to
audition for the role. Britney moved to New York with her mother and baby
sibling. She starred in numerous TV commercials and was also an understudy for
Natalie Portman in "Ruthless" off-Broadway. A few years later, her
love of dance and music began to take over. She auditioned again to appear on
"Mickey Mouse" and was chosen along with Christina Aguilera, Justin
Timberlake, Christina Aguilera Christina Aguilera, as well as Justin
Timberlake.
